Hello and Happy Friday!
This week, student's have investigated the lunar phases through a hands-on modeling activity and a computer simulation. They explored the movement of the moon and how that affects what we on Earth see of the moon each night.
Next week, students will explore the Earth and its movement and how that affects our day to day lives here on Earth.
Each week, students will have a short, formative assessment to check for their understanding of the concepts we have studied that week. They will also have a journal check to make sure they are keeping up with the classwork we are doing. Students will also reflect on their learning by completing a reflection of the 2 ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills and 2 Learner Profiles that we are focusing on for this unit of inquiry.
The 2 ATL skills are: Critical Thinking and Communication. The 2 Learner Profiles are: Thinker and Reflective.
For day-to-day work, students have access to google classroom and that is the primary source of communication between us. Work is posted there, so please ask your child to login and show you their Science google classroom page!
